What You Need to Know
Seven Hills High School is ranked the best private high school and college preparatory school within Ohio and the best High School for STEM in Cincinnati, according to Niche. Seven Hills boasts small class sizes and strong academic outcomes.

Seven Hills High School AP Courses
Seven Hills High School offers 15 Advanced Placement (AP) and 8 Advanced Topics (AT) courses. These are challenging courses and gives students a chance to take college-level courses. Through taking AP exams at the end of the course, students can earn college credit and placement. AP and AT courses are weighted an additional 1.0 and increase a student's weighted GPA.
Based on the student's effort, ability, and achievement during the school year, students must received teacher and/or counselor approval to take an AP/AT course. Note that AP courses are not available in 9th grade and only AP US History is offered in 10th grade. Let us help you plan out which AP courses to take and when.
Seven Hills High School World Language Program
Seven Hills High School offers four world languages: Chinese, French, Latin, and Spanish. Students are put on a path to functional fluency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Each language course contains enrichment opportunities to learn about the areas of the world in which the language is spoken or read.
All foreign language students have an opportunity to enrich their linguistic and cultural experience through study abroad and exchange programs. Every two years, Seven Hills students travel to Spain, France, China, Italy, and Greece.
The Chinese, French, Latin, and Spanish honor societies recognize Upper School students who excel in the study of foreign languages and cultures.
Seven Hills High School Experiential Learning
Seven Hills High School facilitates learning connected with real-world experiences through a variety of ways. Students can take a wide range of electives courses. Students design their surveys and experiments to make inferences on a population in Probability and Statistics. Students interested in medical or health-related career conduct dissections and lab practicals to learn more about the human body in Anatomy and Physiology.
There are also more open-ended courses that allow students to take the lead. Through the Leadership in Action course, students develop and lead a workshop to teach their peers a new skill or share a new experience. The course culminates with a capstone project that showcases how their leadership skills made a positive impact within their community.
A recently added course, $1,000 and Change: Student-Led Philanthropy, gives student teams a microgrant to benefit a social cause of their choice. Over a semester, students research and select a nonprofit that they believe their grant money will do the most good.
Seven Hills also hosts an Experiential Learning Fair where students can learn about volunteering, job shadowing, internship, and job opportunities from organizations within Cincinnati.

Seven Hills Challenge Experience
Seven Hills encourages its Upper School students to delve deeper into an academic passion or interest on their own through their Challenge Experience program. A Challenge Experience can be an independent project, a dedication to service, or a Concentration on a topic studied at a deeper level.
Students have taught themselves foreign languages, created sports podcasts, hiked to Mount Everest Base Camp, self-studied for the State Tested Nursing Assistance license, built a go kart from lawn mower parts, wrote a children's book for kids with parents with a chronic illness, and crafted jewelry.
Upper school students who want to earn a Concentration upon graduation can request an unique area, such as Political Engagement, Engineering and Design, Global Citizenship, Technology and Innovation, Healthcare, Marketing, Art History, and Community Engagement.
To earn a concentration, students must do meet one of below requirements:

Core course requirements plus an elective, an online course, a summer course, a college course,or some other educational experience.

Combination of job shadowing, internship, interviews with professionals, public lectures, conferences, and workshops

A Challenge Experience Project, community service, a job, an internship, a student project, or a student competition
They must also write a reflection paper, perform an oral defense, and keep track of their own progress.
